TOP 10 SELLING CARS IN APRIL 2021 (INDIA) .

In March 2021, the Indian automotive industry made a robust recovery after being affected by the nationwide pandemic. With the second wave playing spoilsport, April has seen fluctuating car sales, with only a few models showing concrete growth compared to the prior month. Let’s take a look at April’s sales figures:

Hereabouts is a list of the top-10 leading-selling cars of April 2021. Unsurprisingly, the top five spots have been overshadowed by Maruti Suzuki, with the Wagon-R seizing away the crown from the Swift.

Hyundai also had an awesome showing with the Creta, Grand i10 Nios and Venue, all showcasing remarkable sales.

Maruti Suzuki continues its dominance in the country, once again seeing seven of its models in the top ten. However, the Wagon R tops the list, snatching away the spot from the Swift, which has fallen to second. The Alto comes in third, with the Baleno dropping down two spots. Hyundai’s Creta, Grand i10, and Venue continue to be the only non-Maruti cars to feature in this list although sales of the Creta have dropped by 1.4 per cent, causing it to drop out of the top five.

TATA-HBX SPOTTED TESTING

TATA-HBX (PRODUCTION READY)

Tata Motors has been rigorously testing the upcoming HBX SUV and spy images have been surfacing online quite often of late, as the micro SUV is inching closer to its launch.
The Tata HBX micro SUV, unveiled at Auto Expo 2020, is expected to launch later this year. A new set of spy images of a near-production Tata HBX test mule have surfaced online, giving us a good idea of its proportions and elements expected on the production model.

Now, the HBX may step in a similar segment, but by the looks of it, expect it to be a slightly premium offering than its rivals. For starters, the test mule in the images rides on dual-tone alloy wheels while both existing models in the segment- S-Presso and Kwid are offered with steel rims as standard. Then other upmarket elements like LED taillights, black piano slat on the grille and C-Pillar mounted rear door handles offering a flush finish are also seen on the test mule. Tata's IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy is also inevitable with the grille being flanked by LED DRLs while the headlight is positioned below. Up-front, it gets a chunky two-part grille with Tata's signature Tri-Arrow pattern design, along with a set of round foglamps.

Its cabin has been spied, and it is identical to the near-production version showcased at Auto Expo 2020.

The cabin looks similar to that of the near-production version showcased at the Auto Expo, 2020. There’s a three-spoke steering wheel with audio, telephone, and cruise control switches, an Altroz-inspired semi-digital instrument cluster featuring a 7-inch colour display, a free-floating 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and a push-engine start/stop button.

Might get only an 86PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, paired with 5-speed manual and AMT options. To begin with, the new Tata HBX (codename) will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Renault Kwid.

Will get 7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, automatic AC, push-engine-start/stop button, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Safety features could include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a parking camera. But ahead of that, its interior has been spied, revealing a few interesting details. And quite evidently, it looks similar to its counterparts in terms of dimensions.

Tata is expected to launch the HBX in India this year.

ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM ORIBE REVEALED, FEATURES BESPOKE ELEMENTS FROM HERMES .

ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM ORIBE REVEALED, FEATURES BESPOKE ELEMENTS FROM HERMES

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have taken the wraps off its latest one-off creation. A work of its Bespoke super-exclusive customisation division, the Rolls Royce Phantom Oribe has been designed in collaboration with Parisian luxury brand Hermes. The Phantom Oribe has been commissioned by Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese entrepreneur, art collector and supercar enthusiast, wanted his Phantom to be built around the theme of private air travel. For the Phantom Oribe, Rolls-Royce has created a unique shade of Oribe Green for the two-tone green and cream-white colour scheme

The Phantom Oribe's steering wheel, door handles, gear selector and rotary climate controls are all finished in Hermes Enea Green leather.

The green shade has been recreated from the 16th century Oribe Japanese ceramic ware that Maezawa is a collector of. Rolls-Royce will even go on to provide this shade for the private jet that the owner wants to pair this Phantom with.

This Oribe ware theme is replicated on the inside with help from Hermes. Touchpoints like the steering wheel, door handles, gear selector and rotary climate controls are all finished in Hermes Enea Green leather. This material is used throughout the car as well – on the upper dash, door pillars and parcel shelf. This leather also covers the glove box and boot, centre console, and even the cooled Champagne cabinet in a measure of the attention to detail in this build. Hermes uses their expertise to create these elements using techniques originally employed by master saddlers.

Suzuki Swift Style Edition With Mini Cooper-Inspired Colour Scheme

Meet Suzuki Swift Style Edition With Mini Cooper-Inspired Colour Scheme

The Swift Style Edition was unveiled by Suzuki Thailand at the Thai Auto Expo back in 2019. The officially customized Style variant of the hatchback is one of the multiple modified Suzuki Swift variants revealed by the brand at the Expo. Featuring a unique sporty look, the Swift Style is adorned with glossy black overall colour with bright yellow detailing, which reminds us of the colour schemes we usually see on a Mini Cooper.

The modified hatchback features red/black leather seats adding to its sporty looks while the steering wheel features a flat bottom design. Powering the modified Swift is a K12M 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally-aspirated petrol engine that is good for 83HP of maximum power and a peak torque of 108Nm. The engine has been mated to a CVT gearbox.

Coming to the side profile, the brand has offered the Suzuki Swift Style with unique alloy wheels that add to the hatchback’s sporty exterior while the wheel arches have been equipped with plastic cladding. The yellow detailing at the side panels feature “Swift Style” branding on top.

The rear of the hatchback has also been adorned with bold yellow stripes running across the centre while the hatchback also features a black GT-wing spoiler at the rear. The interiors of the Maruti Suzuki Swift Style has been equipped with a 7.0 inch Smart Play touchscreen infotainment screen while the dashboard adorns a glossy black finish.
